  • Chair Yoga

    Wednesdays 10:30 - 11:30 AM

    Nancy Giguere, a registered Yoga Instructor began her study of Yoga in her 50s and is especially interested in working with older and "non-typical" students. Her classes emphasize the devlopment of mindful awareness through explorations of range of motion, alignment, strengthening, function, breath and relaxation.

    Chair Yoga for Strength & Ease of Movement

    Sitting in a chair or standing using the chair for support, you'll explore the in-body connection through Yoga postures and other forms of movement. The class emphasizes every-day function such as balance and getting out of a chair.

    FREE - Open to all. Walk-ins welcome.

  • Tai Chi

    Tuesdays 10:30 - 11:30 AM
    Bruce R. Tyler: Board Certified Instructor

    Having discovered the benefits of Tai Chi in his sixties, Bruce is particularly interested in working with older adults to maintain and improve their functional movement and balance, help prevent falls and provide opportunities for social interaction.

    Why do people practice Tai Chi?
    - Reactivate mindful body connection
    - Improve balance & help prevent falls
    - Pain reduction - gentle, slow movement lubricates joints
    - Improve mood and foster social interaction

    Do you have a talent or skill you would like to share or know of someone who does? We are looking for volunteers who would like to share their talents with others at The Hub. Lead or assist the leader of a group through your favorite project or topic of interest.

    Fridays 1pm-3pm
    Do you have a favorite ‘fiber craft” you either do or would like to know more about? Do you Knit? Crochet? Weave? Spin? Felt?
    Join us for Fiber Fridays
    Each session with include a demonstration and conversation with other fiber enthusiasts.
